Cats and Programs

BCC has three main programs to help street cats:  Adoption, Rescue, TNR

Adoption

Cats and kittens that are deemed adoptable are microchipped and given a full veterinary exam, including all required vaccines, flea/ worm treatments, and any medications needed to ensure they are  healthy.  When age appropriate they are neutered or spayed. No cats are allowed to be adopted from BCC until they are neutered or spayed.
Please read about the Adoption Process for more details. We encourage all adopters to carefully evaluate their family, job, financial, and living situations to ensure a successful outcome for you and the new cat!
Available cats stay in our Kat Kottage and are posted at our website and at Petfinders.com.

Rescue and Sanctuary

Our Sanctuary cats have a wide range of ages, personalities, and conditions, but they have one thing in common - they need a home, but have special needs.
Thanks to our new shelter and catio BCC is able to provide a home to some special cats in need. Our sanctuary provides a protected, secure indoor/outdoor enclosure where they have room to roam and explore, until we can find a special adopter and home for them.

TNR Program

Alysia receives many distress calls from local communities and residents who struggle with out-of control street cat situations. Well-meaning people are often able to capture kittens, or provide food, leaving the adult cats to continue breeding. BCC often works with other local TNR rescues to coordinate resources for trapping and obtaining veterinary services. After release, BCC provides daily visits to several local colonies to monitor, feed, and provide veterinary care as needed.
